Here’s what Head Coach Rob Manlove had to say:
“Beth and Jenny are a pleasure to have in class, they are both always smiling and work hard to improve every time they train. These two were an obvious choice for member of the month because they are not afraid to try new things and they do a great job of listening to and implementing the cues given by the coaches.”
Here’s what CM2 Coach Lewis has to say:
“I personally had the pleasure of taking Jennifer and Beth through their Foundations and Intro into Crossfit. Every session they showed up with a smile and we're always so fascinated with all the new training ideas. The pair of them have been patient with their development in all areas and are now beginning to reap the rewards. I always look forward to having Jennifer and Beth in my class and I am excited to see how they continue to grow as athletes.”
The Member of the month interview.
How did you first get involved with CrossFit CM2?
Beth: A good friend had become hooked and recommended it to me.
Jenny: Beth dragged me along for moral support!
What is your most memorable CrossFit moment so far?
Beth & Jenny: Overcoming our fear of box jumps just before Christmas. Back in September we thought we would be jumping on a stack of plates for life.
What is your favourite movement/workout?
Beth: I have been enjoying getting to grips with Olympic lifting in the last few weeks - it slowly seems to be coming together.
Jenny: Hanging and handstands.
What is your least favourite movement/workout?
Name a CF goal you hope to achieve by the end of 2016?
Beth: learning how to do double unders.
Jenny: An ambitious goal - toes to bar!
What do you do when you’re not training at CM2?
Beth: Studying at law school.
Jenny: a mish mash of things- lots of running around after the family and our three lovely (but messy!) dogs.
What is your favourite part of being a CM2 Member?
Beth and Jenny: the buzz of working alongside others, the friendly members and the excellent coaching. If you could give a new member one piece of advice- what would it be?Beth: Don't be afraid to give it a go. Note down your starting points - you will be amazed with how quickly you improve.
Jenny: don't be overwhelmed by the Crossfit jargon - it does eventually sink in and make sense. But if unsure don't be afraid to ask!
Tell us a fun fact about yourself…
Beth: At weekends in the summer I can often be found camping in a field with my three dogs and participating in dog agility competitions.
Jenny: Some parents used to take their dogs to the school gates - I used to take my pet parrot in a cat carrier.
Congratulations to Beth & Jenny on becoming Members of the Month and thanks for being outstanding members of the community!
